Ordering in a restaurant

Eating out is fun and exciting especially when you are in a foreign land. You will experience new taste and one-of-a-kind dining settings and atmosphere.





There are number of expressions you are likely to encounter at a restaurant. Below are just a few of them.


English Expressions 
WAITER:
What can i do for you?
Customer
A table for two, please. (If you want to have a table that is good for two)
WAITER:
May I take your order?
Customer
Could I have a few minutes, please? (if you are not ready to order)
WAITER:
Are you ready to order sir/madam?
Customer
The steak for me, please.
WAITER:
How would you like your steak? (rare, medium, well done)
Customer
Medium rare, please.
WAITER:
What would you like to drink? 
Customer
An iced tea for me.
WAITER:
May i get you anything else?
Customer
No, I'm fine thanks.
WAITER:
Very good sir/madam, enjoy your meal.
WAITER:
How's everything?
Did you enjoy the meal?
Customer
Yes, thank you for asking.
Can i have the bill please? (if you want to pay)
WAITER:
Here's your bill sir/madam.  
Are you paying it with cash/card? (if you want to use a cash or credit card)
Customer
Cash, keep the change. (if you want to give tip/money to the waiter/waitress who assists you.
WAITER:  
Thank you sir/madam.


 
-You may also want to know how something may taste before ordering it. There are a number of words that can be used to describe food.
